A new collection of still life paintings by Natasha, that feature Australian birds within the compositions. “By using vibrant colours and intricate details within each painting I hope to capture the beauty and grace of these magnificent creatures. From the delicate feathers of a fairy-wren to the striking plumage of a rainbow lorikeet, each bird is portrayed with precision and skill. I hope these paintings evoke a sense of wonder and appreciation for the natural and still life world, inviting you, the viewer to pause and reflect on beauty that surrounds us.”

Still Life with Birds (2022)

Still life with birds series is my recent body of work that I introduce birds, especially Australian ones, into my usual traditional composition. My idea is to celebrate the beauty of Australian birds 

that our land has to offer, and to show that still life painting does not have to be boring and motionless, but can be injected with fun and lively elements, making it more exciting and enjoyable to look at.    

Blue and White Porcelain Series (2021)

I love blue and white porcelain and have been collecting them for many years. Each piece has its own character and tell different stories which I find it very fascinating. I enjoy using them in my still life setting and play around with other objects such as friuts and flowers, to create different narratives and captivating compositions..

Simply Beautiful (2020)

‘Simply Beautiful’ celebrates the beauty of everyday objects and things we find in our daily life. Ordinary objects such as bowls, cups, pitchers and cutlery, both vintage and contemporary, as well as fruits and veggies from the kitchen are put together to portray the beauty we often don’t see around us. By playing with composition and colour combinations stories can be told and ideas suggested, leaving viewers to translate it in their own way. This exhibition is focussing on capturing the beauty and simplicity that we normally overlook and rarely appreciate. It reminds us that these objects exist around us in our everyday life and wait for us to look at and appreciate them.

My memory My origin My Inspiration (2019)

This body of work combines objects from my memory, my childhood and objects that remind me of my origin and my hometown in Thailand. These objects represent culture, beliefs and way of life. I also incorporate objects from other cultures and countries to reflect our multicultural world where people from different countries and cultures are mixed and live together. Each object was chosen carefully to best represent my memories, places and times. Symbolic objects were also incorporated in the painting to imply messages and signify transience to remind us about the temporariness of objects, places and time. All of these worldly beauty and lavishness will soon be transformed, decayed and deteriorated. This work also explores how objects portray and tell story through the use of different still life compositions and playful colour combination.

Mundane Entity (2018)

Mundane Entity explores the idea of transience or the brevity of life using contemporary, everyday objects that have symbolic meaning attached to them. These objects tell the story of the temporary nature of all things in our existence. In Buddhism, this belief is part of the circle of life (birth, life and death). The aim of this body of work is to raise the viewers’ awareness and send the message to them that nothing in this world lasts forever, time is always passing, everything will change its stage and condition, the young will grow old and beauty in its turn will decline. As with our emotions, there will be happiness, anger, calm and sadness. These feelings will alternate and change, circulating constantly, from one emotion to another. Within this composition, objects are suspended from above to create an intriguing scene and invite the viewer to discover what it is about. The window acts as a frame and leads the viewers’ eyes to pay close attention to the meaning of each object in the painting.

The Bowl Series

The bowl series captures the beauty of fruit and flower that is placed in various styles of bowl. It is the way I observe the beauty from the objects around me. The bowls in each painting are from different cultures and countries to represent where they are from. There is no specific story or reason of the fruit or flower choices but some may have symbolic meanings attach to them, especially about transience. They are chosen based on pure beauty and pleasure.
